Run Before the Sun

Living in Miami I have learned to become an early morning runner (we are talking hours before the sun rises). I have fallen in love with training in the morning - I feel so energized! I am also very into taking care of my skin...no sun damage for this runner chick!

I am so fortunate to have found the most incredible running group here in Miami, the 1000 Miles Run Club - they are the most caring and supportive group of runners EVER! We all look out for one another and are firm believers in safety in numbers. We have groups of all different paces that run together throughout the week and on the weekends to ensure that no one runs alone.

When running in the dark during the wee hours of the morning, we make sure to be aware of our surroundings and we have our route(s) mapped out ahead of time.

We are also aware of all of the water fountains on our routes to avoid dehydration. I love running with my 12oz. Nathan sport pod, but in Miami that is not enough for my long Saturday runs, so refilling is a must!

I tend to not run with my phone, but my Apple Watch has cellular capabilities, so need be I can make a call in a matter of seconds.

I also do not run with headphones. The beauty of a run group is sharing in chatty miles - it makes the time go by so fast, you develop deep friendships and chatting while running is great for your breathing.

As a BibRavePro, I am so excited to test out my very own Road iD! I don't typically run with my license on me or my phone, so in the event of an emergency this safety id tag can be a literal life saver. I just ordered mine and can't wait for it to come - it's form fitted for my Apple Watch! If you would like to give it a try you can click here for 20% off!
