I personally struggle when in comes to the treadmill (more like the dreadmill) but sometimes it's unavoidable. For me it's a mental block - not sure if it's the constant reminder in front of me of the time/distance, the running in place...both?
Zwift is a game changer for treadmill runs. You run structured workouts (crafted by elite coaches) on virtual roads with a global running community. All you need is a treadmill, the Zwift footpod and a device to run the app (phone, iPad, etc).
The custom workouts make training easy and the virtual landscapes make for fun running courses. You create your own avatar and watch yourself go! You can also find friends and run with them by connecting to third party apps like Strava and Garmin Connect.
